JIM BRADSHAW - USA Hockey Level 2

Jim has coached in the NFHA since 2003, coaching both house and travel teams. Jim played hockey growing up in Pittsburgh and continued to play at a Rec Level at Bowling Green State University while at college. Jim still plays with the Men's B league and has 4 kids that play hockey.

BRUCE CHAN - USA Hockey Level

Bruce is a first time coach for the NFHA during the 2006-2007 season. He is helping coach the first time skaters and new hockey players in the Friday Night Hockey 101 Classes. He has also helped coach the Sunday morning clinics. Bruce grew up skating and playing ice hockey in Southern California spending his first 4 years in figure skating before “seeing the light” and switching to ice hockey. Bruce played Club Level Hockey in college and is a graduate of the University of Southern California and a former U.S. Marine Corps Officer. Bruce has two daughters Leilani 7, who is a figure skater and Eden 1. Bruce still hopes the younger one will “see the light” like her dad and choose ice hockey.

SCOTT KRESS - USA Hockey Level 3

Although Scott never played the game or skates due to a bad back and knee, he has over 10 years of coaching experience with some of the best head coaches in the state of Florida. His goal has always been to do all he can behind the scenes to allow the coaches who skate to focus on ´”just coaching the kids”. Scott initially coached in the NFHA in 1997 to 2000 with Sherwood Cooke. For 3 Years Scott was a Coach in the Storm travel program. Scott again served as an Assistant Coach and Team Manager for the Raiders program out of Tampa when his son Scott, Jr played for the Raiders under Trevor Fahey (Formerly of the New York Rangers) for 2003 and 2004. With the Raiders, Scott served as Head Coach for a few games during 2003 and 2004 seasons. Scott is back in the mix at the NFHA and brings much experience to the upper age level programs.

RICK LARSON – USA Hockey Level 2

Rick has been deeply involved in Jacksonville Hockey since moving here in 2002 from Calgary, Alberta, Canada where, oddly enough, he didn't actually ever play organized hockey. His first game with Refs and and Scorekeepers was right here in Jacksonville in the Adult C League. Rick personally has since "moved up" to the B league! Rick is an assistant coach in the Squirt/PeeWee division. Rick’s real expertise is in organization and Team Management. He has taken on the task of running and operating the Travel Program for the Junior Barracudas. He has two boys, Gray and Quinn, who both play house and travel hockey.

PAUL J. LYNCH – USA Hockey Level 3

Paul Lynch has been involved with NFHA for ten years. He has at one time or another been a Head Coach or Assistant on every level from 101 to Midgets. He has also been the involved in the Travel Program and as Head Coach has lead the Travel Mites in 2007 to their B1 State Championship. In 2004 Paul was the Head Coach of the Jacksonville Hurricanes high school hockey team. Paul was born and raised in Rochester, NY. He and Karen and have three sons, Eric, Ryan, and Timmy, who are active in the NFHA and on the travel teams.

DR. ED MAYBURY - USA Hockey Level 2

Ed has been coaching in the NFHA since 2002. For the 2006-2007 season, Ed is serving as the Director of Coaching. Ed, played Ice Hockey growing up in Chelmsford, Massachusetts and continued to play club level hockey in college at Holy Cross and in medical school in Bethesda, Md. He still stays active while playing in the Adult B league. Ed has 2 children (Edward Jr & Shaylyn) currently playing in the NFHA.

DWAYNE McLEAN – USA Hockey Level 3

Dwayne has been coaching in the NFHA for 10 years. Dwayne Started as a Hockey 101 coach and has moved into the Midget Division as his children Camron and Derek have grown. In addition, he served previously as the NFHA Director of Coaching for 3 years. Dwayne played high school hockey in Anchorage, Alaska and has played Adult A & B league hockey at Skate World for the last 8 years. Once a year, he still plays in the International Air Traffic Controllers Hockey Tournament and was awarded "Best Defenseman" at the 2005 St Johns, Newfoundland event.

JOHN MORLEY – USA Hockey Level 1

John grew up playing recreational hockey in Minnesota. When his sons Alex and Ryan started playing organized hockey in Hutchinson, MN in 2005 he got the bug. John helped out as a team manager, scorekeeper and tournament announcer. He even built the kids their own indoor ice rink. Recently moving to Jacksonville, 2006 was his first year as a certified coach, but he is quickly becoming one of the most active Coaches in the organization.

MIKE MITCHELL - USA Hockey Level 2

Mike has been coaching in the NFHA since 2006. Presently Head Coach of the Mite Flames, he also enjoys helping out during travel games. While growing up in Buffalo, New York - Mike played high school level hockey with the McKinley Screaming Eagles winning the Explorer League Championship 2 years. He retired as a Lieutenant from the Buffalo Fire Dept. in October 2005. After retiring, Mike started a new career as a Federal Police Officer with Dept. of Defense, he recently received a promotion to Physical Security Specialist. Mike enjoys coaching in the NFHA and watching his grandson Joshua play. He is also the Safety advisor for the NFHA.

STEVEN P. RABY- USA Hockey Level 2

Steven has been coaching in the NFHA since 2000. His three sons, Chris, Addison, & Paul are involved in levels: House, Travel and High School. Steven is currently Coaching in the Squirt / Pee Wee Division, and also with the travel program. Steve is a very accomplished player, he grew up playing competitive hockey in Montreal Canada, from Midget "AAA" to Junior "Majeure", before attending college in the U.S. at Clarkson University. Steven currently plays in the Adult "A" league in Jacksonville. He also has a daughter, Mary-Elizabeth and is married to Elaine.

SCOTT REED


Scott, has 2 boys playing hockey and he has been active in coaching and supporting youth hockey for the last 2 years. Scott and family moved from Saskatchewan to Valdosta, Georgia in the summer of 2005. The Reed’s commute from Valdosta each weekend to participate in the NFHA and as Scott says, “We are thankful there is a hockey rink in the south and are always looking forward to meeting other hockey kids and parents!”

RANDY STANTON – NFHA Level 1

Randy is a Past President of the NFHA, and is currently in charge of the Friday Night 101 program, along with coaching in the Mite division. Randy has been coaching hockey since 2005, and is also a certified football coach. Randy was born in Lansing, Michigan and can often be seen with some sort of Red Wings gear on. Randy played high school hockey while growing up in Waterford, Wisconsin. Randy and Julie have two children, Amanda and Brendan.

BRETT STROT

Brett is a Minneapolis, Minnesota native, and he was the Assistant Coach of the Jacksonville Barracudas of the SPHL. Brett brings many years of hockey experience to the Junior Barracudas. He was the former General Manager/Coach of the Jacksonville Hammerheads (Southern Elite Hockey League). Brett played nine years professionally in the ECHL, UHL, ACHL & IHL and was a four-year letter winner at the University of Minnesota.
